New Year – New Artist hitting the studio walls, and we are stoked that the studio is going to be beautiful, bright and fun for our first exhibition of 2025. We’re so excited to introduce one of the fresh talents joining the lineup for 2025 – Tori Rose Creative.

Tori is an OG Squad Babe so being able to share her and her work with you is very special to us and we are thrilled she will spice up the walls for the next few months.

TORI IN A NUTSHELL

Tori is based on a farm in Lake Cargelligo and grew up in Boorowa, she moved from her hometown out to Lake as a primary teacher with two of her besties, met a farmer, fell in love and now Tori’s out her painting her little heart out surrounded by sheep, crops, the beautiful Lake and red dirt.

Tori said “My family are all farmers and I remember when I accepted the position out here, my Mum told me I’d fall in love with the big skies…and she was so right!  I quickly fell in love with the openness and vastness of the land out here and those big beautiful sunrises and sunsets.”

THE LOVE OF ART

When I asked Tori about her love of art, where it started and just a bit of background on her story and journey, she gave me the most wholesome answer, we couldn’t wait to share it with you..

“Art and creativity has always been a massive part of my life. Growing up, if I wasn’t on the farm with Mum, Dad and my big brother or riding horses, I was painting and drawing. I was always a messy painter, usually leaving a trail of colour behind me on the floor and walls. I feel so blessed that my family encouraged both my brother and my creativity

No matter how messy things got with my art (I used to move furniture around to try and hide my paint spills from mum), I was always encouraged to keep going. I think my Mum plays such a massive role in my artistic practice, she always encouraged me to try different things and new styles.

After a couple of years of teaching, I found my way back to my practice. I remember feeling the biggest sense of coming ‘home’ as soon as I picked up a paint brush again. It makes me giggle that after all these years, painting is still the thing that makes me feel connected, at ease and in my flow. It brings me right back to being four years old and playing with colours and telling my mum I’d be an artist one day..

THE JUGGLING ACT

Very exciting times in Tori’s life, as just after we launch her exhibition and enjoy our night celebrating this little powerhouse – Tori is due with her first baby, due in March (yes, SO wild, wouldn’t be a Saltbush show if we weren’t cutting it fine haha).

But between juggling life, pregnancy, farm life, primary teaching and just the crazy chaos of life. Tori is seriously just taking it in her stride, making it work, upgrading the farm art studio to keep cool and comfortable during her pregnancy (thanks to her beautiful father in law).

More wholesome words from Tori.. “Being pregnant is honestly the most grounded and connected I’ve ever felt.. like my soul just feels so aligned to my purpose and heart. I’m travelling really gently, trying to listen to my body when I need rest and optimise the times I am very energised. I am so blessed that I feel very well and am taking time to slow down now as my due time approaches quicker than I anticipated haha! I think one of the greatest gifts has been having such a supportive partner in Darcy

THE SALTBUSH STRETCH LIFE

We love Tori, she has a special place in our hearts, she is a big OG Saltbush Babe, a big yogi lover over in The Saltbush Squad, especially while growing this little baby.. Tori agrees with us that you really never regret jumping on the mat, even for a quick stretch.

“Throughout pregnancy, the gentle stretching and movements feel so nourishing to my body and made me feel from the start that I was taking care of myself on my journey into motherhood. At the moment I’m well into the third trimester, so it’s pretty gentle, but I’m so grateful for how it makes me feel.

My little Jack Russel ‘Scout’ always joins me on the mat, without fail, which Darc finds hilarious! I’m always so inspired by the Saltbush girls and am really looking forward to continuing practicing when my body is ready again after having little Bub”

Tori – you are divine, we really hope you enjoyed Tori’s blog post as we welcome her into the Studio as our newest Feature Artist. We invite you all to come along and check out Tori’s beautiful work, catch up with your fellow Studio babes, enjoy some bubbles and maybe do some shopping for your home!

Friday 28th of February at 5pm is the night of goodness and a refresh of the studio walls, grab your ticket below so we have enough cheese and bikkies for you and we look forward to you all meeting Tori and having a drink with you all.

Big love. Em xx
