Think, cowboys, yogi’s, divers but make it funky and bright and times it by 20, because that is how FUN, FUNKY and FRESH our newest feature artist is – that is taking us into the summer months!
The studio walls are about to get a whole lot brighter and vibes are going to be SO HIGH as Isabelle Kidd, a very fun, self taught, young artist from coastal Victoria is coming our way. Belle has a deep passion for bright, fun patterns and bringing that to people’s homes.
Belle lives south-west of Melbourne on the beautiful Bellarine Peninsula in Queenscliffe, VIC. She is a registered nurse, but when she’s not at the hospital you will find Belle at the beach, playing netball, surfing, Pilates and of course painting (she is our kind of chick!!).
We know you will fall in love with Belle as much as we have, we are so excited to bring her into the studio to share this amazing talent with you, and hope that there is a new piece to brighten up that wall in your home. That’s if Em and I don’t buy them all before they hit the studio walls (yes they are THAT good, we already have our eye on some 🤣)
BELLE’S ART JOURNEY
We asked Belle to share her art journey with us, her inspiration, where the love of art came from, what pieces have her heart – all the good stuff.
“I have always been creative, dabbling in many different mediums when I was younger including collage, drawing and quilting. I started painting when I was in high school and didn’t think there was anything to come of it until 2022 when I decided to make an instagram. And the rest is history!!
My inspiration comes from loads of sources. The environment around me, personal photographs, my love for colour and trial and error that allows to see different perspectives on my art.
I love painting lots of different styles. However my little surfer people have my heart. Being a surfer and living on the coast these pieces really resonate with me and my lifestyle.”
MOVEMENT + ART
We all know how important movement is in life, and one of our main questions to our artist is, are you a yoga or pilates lover? Obviously any movement is good movement but you know that yoga and pilates is our number one 😉
In the exact words from Belle – “I LOVEEEEEE PILATES.. I do reformer Pilates multiple times a week. So when I was asked to do an exhibition at a Pilates studio I thought it was a perfect match. Mixing two of my favourite hobbies, Pilates and painting.”
1st BIRTHDAY PARTY + EXHIBITION
The studio has officially been open for one whole year, which is just so crazy to think about – which we will do a year in review journal because there’s just lots to recap on and share. But we have incorporated Belle’s exhibition night with our 1st birthday party – YAY. We are taking all our birthday guests to the AMALFI COAST (not literally – we wish 🤣)
We are bringing the Amalfi vibes to celebrate one year of the studio, think limoncello, colours, HIGH VIBES. So we would love for you to join us, and wear something bright, come and hang out with all your favourite Saltbush babes, check out some fabulous art AND enjoy our special pop up guest, Kristy Lee Jewellery, who with be showcasing her gorgeous pieces and offering permanent jewellery. She is such a queen and we are so looking forward to her coming into the studio to be a part of the birthday celebrations.
