But keep reading to get to know a little more about the beautiful Pip…
Firstly, if you don’t already know Pip, we want to tell you a bit about this little powerhouse, Pip grew up near the small town of Booligal, about 90 kms north of our studio, on the family property with her parents and siblings, where they predominantly breed beef angus cattle.
After finishing school, Pip headed to north QLD, she worked in the gulf as a station-hand for 2 years. I thoroughly enjoyed my time working in northern Australia, there were many challenges, however, lots of fun and memories made. Much of the inspiration for her work was formed here.
Pip then looked to further her education in the agricultural industry and began studying a Bachelor of Agribusiness at Marcus Oldham. She is now in her final year of study.
Pip Ireson is artist/creator behind @createdbypip. Her artistic journey formed from her high attention to detail & appreciation for aesthetic design, then aligning with her passion for the Agricultural Industry.
During the venture to work in Northern Queensland on a cattle station, inspiration for the subject of her work was shaped, matching the breeds of cattle from the paddock to paper.
Since then Pip has returned home and to the Southern Australia Regions to undertake tertiary study. Here she has found more time to further progress her works into European cattle breeds, as well as other experimentations & developments of her creations.
The soothing & satisfying method of watercolour & its distinct qualities to be moved & absorbed by the paper makes for a rewarding break from study, for Pip.
Pip definitely love changing it up…hence the variety of works.
“Sometimes it’s nice to slow down and really focus on detail when completing the watercolor cows. Equally it’s just as nice to loosen up when creating the clowns; the freedom of relaxing the hand and letting the brush take charge to give each work its own individual uniqueness. At the end of the day witnessing others’ appreciation for my work and seeing them displaying them in their homes has my heart”
As we are lucky enough to have Pip as one of our Saltbush Studio babes we asked her.. Whats your vibe, Yoga or Pilates? She said..
“Definitely more of a pilates fan…both reformer & mat but there’s nothing better than a nice chilled yoga flow to stretch out. Loved my visits to the Saltbush Studio over summer – the studio’s that I attend whilst at uni just aren’t quite the same!”
We LOVE that Pip, nothing beats the Saltbush Studio 😉
